DoS Bureaus of Arms Control, Verification & Compliance (AVC) & International Security and Nonproliferation Timbie Forum

The U.S. Department of State Bureaus of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance (AVC) and International Security and Nonproliferation (ISN) will host the 2023 James Timbie Forum on Arms Control and Nonproliferation. This event will focus on fostering new voices and ideas to reduce the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction and other unconventional weapons.

The Forum is named for Dr. James Timbie, who retired from the State Department in 2016 after a 40-year career and serving as a key player in the formation or implementation of virtually every important arms control and nonproliferation effort that occurred during his tenure. Dr. Timbie is a model diplomat, scientist, and public servant, and he continues to be a role model for all those who aspire to join or excel in the field.
